Zachary Levi say Marvel Studios ' boss Kevin Feige misled him about hisThorrole as Fandral . Before bring down his own DC franchise as Shazam , Levi was initially involve in the Marvel Cinematic Universe playing one of the Asgardians Warriors Three . Levi only appear twice in the MCU , first inThor : The Dark Worldand then briefly inThor : Ragnarok .
Levi was originally cast to dally Fandralin Kenneth Branagh ’s 2011Thormovie , but had to drop out due to a programing conflict . Josh Dallas eventually have over the role . Interestingly , however , when Dallas could n’t total back for the 2d movie , Levi stepped back in to make for the fictional character . In a newHappy , Sad , Confused Podcast , the actor claims that Feige promised him a more spectacular part as Fandral inThor : The Dark World — something that did n’t happen .

Feige is like , ‘ Hey , would Zach desire to take this part again ? ’ And to be honest , wait … and I insisted on verbalize to Kevin about it , for two reason . One , I saw the first film , and I did n’t really feel like the Warriors Three were apply in that great of a way . And I was like , ‘ Is that extend to be the showcase again , because if it is , I do n’t really want to do that , you recognise ? ’ And he ’s like , ‘ No , no , no , it ’s gon na be a vast part of this movie . ’ Not so much , as it turned out .
Can Zachary Levi’s Fandral Still Return In The MCU?
Fandral ’s last MCU appearance was in 2017’sThor : Ragnarok . As part of theater director Taika Waititi ’s attempt to regenerate the enfranchisement , he pop several key characters from the previous pic , including the Warriors Three . Levi ’s net Fandral line inThor : Ragnarokwas gash , but the plan was to end his character in the threequel .
Despite being belt down in the MCU , there are a couple of ways that Marvel Studios can bring back the character , specially in the burgeon Multiverse Saga . That includes the introduction of his stochastic variable from another timeline if Thor and/or Loki find themselves travel through multiple universes . Objectively , however , since there has never been any substantial interest in Fandral and even the Warriors Three , the chances of this find are slim to none .
After his brief stint in the MCU as part of twoThormovies , Levi has now moved over to the DC Universe with theShazam!franchise . unluckily , due to the letdown ofShazam ! delirium of the Gods , even his hereafter with the DC superhero universe is uncertain .
