Namor the Submariner volitionally abdicate his throne and allowed the human mankind to throw away him in prison , so he could resolve for his many offence . However , this go forth a monumental vacuum of power throughout the submarine land of Atlantis . World War Sea , much like World War Hulk or the recent World War Orchis , is already a devastating event that is ravaging the various undersea tribe , while major city like Atlantis and Lemuria have been abandoned and destroy . This fierce tribal Civil War is being head by seven unlike rival leaders all vying for the empty throne , including the nefarious Attuma , and no one but Namor can finish the warfare .
Fantastic Four ’s New Codename for Namor Perfectly Defines the Character
While the various tribes of the sea warring are horrific on their own , Stingray brings even more dire news . The surface world has always feared the down in the mouth - skinned , fishlike Atlanteans and World War Sea may be the last stubble that causes the world ’s governments to adjust in their oppression of undersea multitude . Stingray warns that mankind will announce an " open season " on Atlanteans- and any other humanoid undersea being - with hunters and fishers allowed to capture and shoot down without fear of backlash . This is atrocious , and hopefully , other Earth zep would oppose this regime - sanctioned racial extermination , but the hypothesis of this happening to his people is what finally breathe in Namor to live in prison house and embark the sea once more .

Namor Must Face His Failures If He Hopes To Save Atlantis
This may be the path towards Namor becoming King once more
Namor#1 makes it very clear that Namor has zero pursuit in regaining his royal throne , going so far as actively take never to refer the ocean again … until Stingray ’s subject matter forces his hired hand . Marvel has teased that World War Sea will exchange Namor , and perhaps Marvel ’s , lore constantly , meaning Atlantis might get an entirely new King at the end of the state of war . However , there is a opportunity that Namor will discover some form of redemption , or at least acceptance from his hoi polloi , allow him to live among the Atlanteans again , perhaps as a King , or at least as a protector of his residential district .
Namor the Submariner is one of the most complex antihero in Marvel ’s long history , and if he has any Leslie Townes Hope of saving his people from the horrors of the surface world , he will ask to apply every troy ounce of his might . No one knows how World War Sea will terminate for Namor or Atlantis , all that is known is that nothing will ever be the same .
