Lastly , while the writer were freshening things up , they figured Thor could use some new friends . So first they had to have Helakill off his old friendsso buff would n’t be asking about them ( do n’t worry , though , this wo n’t interfere with the movie not taking itself seriously ) , and then they precede Thor ’s new chum Valkyrie . She ’s from Asgard , so she can relate to him as a friend . Plus she ’s a woman , so she give Thor a new amatory option so people will stop talking about Jane . Plus she ’s fought Hela before and just so happens to already be on the same major planet Thor travels to , so she can conveniently help him immediately . Now that ’s killing two skirt with one stone .
