My initial clue that THE LAST RONIN was going to be much swelled than we ’d expected ( and trust me , Kevin and I had gamey hopes for it from the very start ) was when I first learned we were going to a second impression even before the first printing was out to stores . Ironically , IDW was getting accuse of deliberately shorting the first government issue , but the truth was that IDW had deliberately OVER PRINTED the return in the Leslie Townes Hope its sales numbers would surpass the initial preorders once queer folks watch it on computer memory shelf … and we still did n’t have enough to meet the demand – not even nigh ! That was my first inkling that THE LAST RONIN had the potentiality to be something very special and beyond all our expectations . I ai n’t gon na lie - it still shocks me how democratic it ’s become . I ’m sincerely humble by it all and could n’t be more thankful .

Tom Waltz : Our primary prescript was that they needed their sib / kin dynamic to feel conversant yet different . Tom Waltz : Just like the original TMNT , I ca n’t pick a favorite . I will say that Ben Bishop ’s initial design of Odyn was a erotic love - at - first - sight moment for me ( the little turtleneck tank did n’t have a name at that stage , but his cuddly / lovable personality immediately sparked in my judgement and my nitty-gritty ) . Having been with the Turtles so long , which character outside of the meat brothers do you find it most rewarding to write , and were there any you switch perspective on over so many issues ?
Tom Waltz : I LOVE writing Baxter Stockman ! He ’s definitely top of my listing . He ’s so unapologetically opportunistic and confident . So brutally honest . Even though he ingest a blackguard tour more clip than not , I still find parts of his personality admirable … like , damn , I care I could be that forward and ego - assured in real living ( laughs ) .
Old Hob is another character I adore . He ’s complicated , with so many unparalleled and conflicting stratum . I always see him as a person ( er , mutant ) who really has the safe intentions , if not always the good way of following through on them .
A character I also have a go at it a lot is Angel Bridge ( a.k.a . Nobody ) . She ’s someone I ’d love to explore more … dig deeper into her motivations and personality .
And I absolutely fell head over heel in love with the Nova Posse while write The Armageddon Game event serial . I DEFINITELY plan on revisiting them soon ( remain firm by for that , sports fans ! )

Just a great , expectant person to have in my life . I ’ve learned so much from him about comics on the creative and business front . He ’s ensure it all - the good and the bad - and his wide - range expertise and experience is something he ’s always willing to share with me , which I truly believe has made me a adept creator and collaborator ( and person ) in so many way . I sincerely cherish our relationship , no doubt about it .
