Thor : Ragnarokintroduces a number of new characters to theMarvel Cinematic Universe , both heroes and scoundrel , though it ’s not so easy to place Karl Urban ’s character reference , Skurge , into either category .

This is not to say that he deserves our sympathy . The rest of Asgard chose to take flight rather than bow to Hela ’s rule . He also , albeit reluctantly , agreed to be her public executioner and was about to polish off an innocent woman on her orders before someone step in at the last minute of arc . Further , when it becomes unmortgaged that Thor ’s side was go to get ahead the final engagement he cowardly wear a disguise to get onto the rescue ship .
But while beleaguer by his people , and with the menace of undead soldiers about to take out the ship , Skurge has a change of sum and tear out a pair of car guns he ’d got from Earth and starts taking his former ally out . Losing his position on the rescue ship , he take his aggression to Hela , and that run as well as can be look .
This is a sack to the comic status quo where Skurge - who is also a occupant of Asgard - is more of a straight - up villain . There ’s still some equivocalness , but the lean of Avengers he ’s stood against beyond Thor is a long one that would make him a more unpopular figure on Earth than perhaps even Loki . In a way of life , Skurge is like Maya Hansen fromIron Man 3 . Skurge valued his own life more than his people and allow for himself to be led by Hela even though he did n’t harmonise with her delegacy . All Skurge want to do was make a name for himself and his final sacrifice will , hopefully , be what he ’s remembered for .
