Just , wow .
I had n’t been to the San Diego Comic - Con in about seven yr , and this was the first time I go bad as a appendage of the press . If I had to blame one discussion to describe my experience it would have to be :
overpowering .
I did have a hatful of fun , especially at the parties held after the days ' event . In the exposure above are some of the folk I met who turn tail other movie land site that I chit-chat every twenty-four hours . From left to good they ’re Jessica fromFirstShowing.net , Peter from / Film , John fromThe Movie Blog , Kevin ( crouching ) fromCinematical , then there I am in my Slusho thyroxine - shirt next to John fromAdvanced Ironand lastly Alex from FirstShowing.net . I also met Jen from Rottentomatoes.com , and folks from Chud.com , Rope of Silicon and other sites .
As just one someone , it ’s impossible to cover up everything movie - touch going on at the Con due to overlap panel time and the fact that you have to get in line early for the grownup presentations in the lead of time . Not only that , but I was compensate news for Screen Rant plus Advanced Iron . I did have some help with the coverage for the A.I. site , but I was also limited by other constituent .
I knew going in this was n’t go to work like clockwork , but with what I ’ve check next twelvemonth I ’ll do thing a flake differently .
All in all it was a blow and I had the opportunity to meet a flock of folks I never stargaze I ’d get to see face to face including Jon Favreau , Robert Downey Jr. , Terrance Howard , Gwyneth Paltrow , Robert Burnett ( director of one of my all meter favorite motion-picture show , Free Enterprise ) , Michael Davis ( music director of the upcomingShoot ‘em Upstarring Clive Owen ) and the writer ofCrankandPathology . I also spent some metre talking to Milo Ventimiglia ( Peter Petrelli from NBC’sHeroes ) along with Zachary Quinto ( Sylar fromHeroesand Benjamin Spock in the upcomingStar Trekfilm ) .
It was great mother a trailer of some of the bigger films to get out next twelvemonth and to be surround by tons of other folk who are as geeked out over movies as I am . :-)
I cogitate two of the braggy things to fare out of the Con wereBeowulfandIron Man . I thinkIron Manis going to change by reversal out to be one of the biggest motion-picture show of 2008 and as Marvel Studios ' first film is belong to knock one out of the ballpark . It ’s too early to tell withThe Incredible Hulk , but the panellist certainly were passionate about the projection and I remember they ’re going to come at it from the right angle .
I do n’t know howDoomsdaywill do as another post - apocalyptic picture show , Wall - Elooks great , Pathologymay do well if it can escape being tag as torture porn ( which it ’s not).Shoot ‘em Upis definitely deserving checking out as a definite R - rated action picture show … Balls of Furycould go either room - the cartridge holder they show was pretty peculiar but I do n’t know if the intact film will be . Although doing a send up of the classic Bruce Lee movieEnter the Dragonwith Ping River pong is a somewhat blessed peculiar idea .
The clip and cast ofHot Rodhad me laughing , although candidly I thought the prospect they showed ( which WAS comic ) drop dead on for a minuscule bit too long , like they did n’t know when to say " when . "
I know this kind of cast , but that ’s just how it finger while there , so it ’s actually quite an appropriate style for this post . :-)
Maybe next year I ’ll actually have time to walk the exhibit Charles Martin Hall and control out all the John Wilkes Booth …
