Summary

Ash Ketchum may now be the reigning world champ , but there ’s one lot of brawny opponents he ’s never had to present in conflict , even though nearly every participant of thePokémongames has : the Elite Four . Despite having met many Elite Four members over the years , Ash has never battled against them in an prescribed capacity , but he just might be at the level where that ’s an alternative now .

In the games , a player collect eight gym badges before heading to the Pokémon League , where they then mustface the Elite Four(and the Champion ) , all in succession . However , in the anime , flight simulator who collect eight gym badges are insert into a tournament league for the regional area , where they battle against other flight simulator with eight badge . The winner of this tournament earns the title of Champion , which seems to add up with both duty and benefits .

The Elite Four have been show to exist in the gum anime , with all 4 Kanto Elite Four members appearing in the original serial , and sporadic visual aspect by other members of other regional Elite Four teams occur throughout the series .

Ash Never Battling the Elite Four is the Anime’s Biggest Missed Opportunity

The theatrical role of the Elite Four in the gum anime is n’t quite light , but it has been explained to some extent , at least for the Sinnoh region . In theDiamond & Pearlepisode " An Elite Meet and Greet ! " , Ash receive Lucian of the Sinnoh Elite Four , who explains that the sensation of a tournament is then offered the chance to take exception the " Champion League , " which postulate defeating each of the Elite Four and the reign Champion of their region , much like in the game . SinceAsh pull in his first conference championship in the Alola League , which had only recently been establish and did n’t have an Elite Four , Ash never dispute them .

Ash did struggle against a few Elite Four member alfresco of their prescribed capacity , but he lost to both the Hoenn Elite Four member Drake and the Sinnoh Elite Four member Flint . Dawn also had the fortune to battle an Elite Four member , Lucian , to whom she also lose , but who provided her with advice and experience that helped get her Buizel to obey her . These loss would seem to raise that the Elite Four are certainly worthy of their reputations in the Zanzibar copal , as have their other appearance throughout the series . It would certainly be interesting to see Ash front down a gantlet of the most elect trainer in a region , one after another , with slight opportunity to roost .

For being such a major element of the game since the very rootage , it ’s in spades odd that the Elite Four have n’t factored into the gum anime any more than they did . Most Elite Four members were reduced to a single visual aspect , and many ( specially those from Unova and Hoenn ) never even appear in the anime at all . It does , however , intend that there ’s still one big challenge out there for Ash Ketchum , should there ever be a desire to return to the character who was the backbone of thePokémonanime for over 25 years .
