Karl Urban will make his Marvel Cinematic Universe first appearance this fall inThor : Ragnarokas the Asgardian warrior Skurge , and the actor is offering some new perceptiveness into the case ’s motivation . Though much about the film remains under wrapping , we do screw that Skurge line up himself withthe nefarious Hela ( Cate Blanchett ) , assisting her in her seduction of Asgard and shit his people in the process . A sure Thunder God is probably going to have a trouble with that .
In the comic books , Skurge has been both an enemy and friend to Thor . So why does he throw his lot in with Hela inRagnarok ? It ’s not out of any integral villainy or ill will towards his people , at least not grant to Urban .

Of course , that does n’t forgive his betrayal , and Thor in all likelihood wo n’t be deplume any of his punches when the two inevitably feather off . But it does mean looker should keep their eyes on him asRagnarok’sstory progresses .
Skurge may be on the awry side of things , but he clear feel no particular commitment to his new boss . He ’s with her because the choice is death , so when Thor and his jury-rigged squad ofLoki , Valkyrie , andHulkarrive to even the betting odds , will Skurge be forced to reevaluate his position ? Considering the lineament ’s path in the funnies , there ’s every chance Skurge will make a late shift of allegiances , and ultimately determine to put the fate of his homeland before himself .
Whatever Skurge ’s journeying inRagnarokentails , fans can be sure that Urban will bear a convincing performance , just as he has in films likeStar Trek , DreddandThe Lord of the Rings .
