However , follow the battle at Rook ’s Rest , it is now clear that theDance of the Dragonswill be fight in the sky too . This get the dragonriders even more important for teams Black and Green .
Rhaenyra dominate from Dragonstone , meaning she has more dragons usable than Team Green . That pronounce , the Blacks simply do not have enough dragonriders for all the firedrake that they have usable , which is a job . Team Green may only have one suitable dragonrider after what happen to Aegon , yet Vhagar encounter to be the most hefty creature in the humanity right now . Ulf and Hugh will claim Silverwing and Vermithor , respectively , and will fight for Rhaenyra at first . However , they will eventually betray her .

Two Of Rhaenyra’s Dragonseeds Will Switch Sides During The War
Ulf was preface inHouse of the Dragonseason 2 , episode 3 as a man from King ’s landing place with silver hair who claim he is the grandson of Jaehaerys I Targaryen . While Ulf is not Jaehaerys ’ grandson and is not part of the verbatim line of succession , he does have Targaryen line of descent . Likewise , Hugh , who is also a pitiful gentleman from King ’s Landing , has Targaryen blood and will be chosen as one of Rhaenyra ’s dragonseeds . Initially , Rhaenyra and Jace ’s plan solve very welland allows the Blacks to bring Vermithor and Silverwing .
Hugh ’s family line storyline inHouse of the Dragonseason 2 does not happen in the book , raising the interrogation of how much his story will deviate from the source material .
Ulf and Hugh try out themselves in the Battle in the Gullet , after which they would become all-important member of Rhaenyra ’s U. S. Army . Still , the dragonseeds desire more than just to be acknowledge as Targaryen descendant who could ride dragon . In exchange for their feats in the warfare , both Ulf and Hugh expected claim and glory . The betrayals of Ulf and Hugh take a huge toll on Rhaenyra , particularly after she finds out that two of her flying lizard were used against her army . She immediately turn against the other dragonseeds , fearing that they will also grass her . Although Rhaenyra takes over King ’s landing place and sit on the Iron Throne for a point , the Dance of the Dragons show to be much more exhausting than either of the sides imagined . Rhaenyra spring up paranoidand even threatens to kill the other dragonseeds . Ulf and Hugh stimulate a lot of tumult for the Greens as well .

Hugh Hammer starts to say he should be baron because of a prophecy he heard about a hammering take down a dragon . This raises the tension between him and Prince Daeron Targaryen , theyoungest son of Alice Hightower inHouse of the Dragon , in the lead of the Second Battle of Tumbleton . Hugh is bolt down by one of Team Green ’s knight during the conflict , after which Ulf White announce his plan to claim the Iron Throne . Ulf would then be poisoned by Hobert Hightower , who also had to pledge a poison potable so that Ulf would not suspect anything .
