Lauren Tom : And just being able-bodied to rust luncheon together . Sometimes , if someone was n’t called in , they ’d hail in for tiffin anyway , because we just require to see each other .

Lauren , there have been so many episodes of the show at this point , but we ’re still seeing novel things . I loved seeing Amy become a mom last season . How much do developments like that keep the character interesting to you ?
Lauren Tom : That was my favorite affair about last time of year , and it stay fresh go in this season too . It ’s about the challenge that we all look as parents , how to raise good Kyd that are n’t featherbed , and “ How do you do that if you ’re passing moneyed like Amy ? ” I would love to see them keep on on in that way — to let our characters continue to get on and look the challenge that we ’re all going to face as we get older and as we say auf wiedersehen to the things that we used to have .
It make it more authentic , and it makes it deeper , more challenging , and playfulness as thespian . And , I think , for the audience too , because they ’ve acquire up with us . I think it ’s nice to see that the hoi polloi can plug in at any age . I get so much street cred with my kids for being in Futurama when they were small , and that go all the agency up to people that are our age , too . It ’s really nerveless that we can touch so many different age radical .

Billy West : So many of these things become memes . There are a million meme that come out of the show . One of my favorites is when the professor said , " I do n’t want to survive on this planet any longer . " I suppose , " Dang . I say that every day . ”
Lauren Tom : Also , our family always says , " Good news , everyone , " when we have something to partake in , for sure .

Leela is a kickass , take - no - prisoners , strong woman , and then Amy ’s just fun loving — who does n’t care a party?—wnd she does n’t overthink things very much . She ’s just very present . [ There ’s ] Fry ’s innocence and his center , he ’s kind of the mortal of the whole show , and then there ’s the Professor being so bright . I feel like everyone ’s got their flaws , but they ’ve also got a real intensity that I think that people can relate to or look up to in a way .
Billy West : Speaking of flaw — Zapp Brannigan .
Lauren Tom : Aww , I love him .
Billy West : He ’s so flawed . He ’s so deliciously stunned .
Lauren Tom : And we ’ve all got people like that in our lives , too .

Lauren Tom : I just think the show join people . We all feel more connected to one another .
